Kacche Kele Ki kofta curry Upwas Recipe

Kacche Kele Ki Kofta Curry – Learn how to prepare this upwas special dish

Kacche Kele Ki Kofta Curry  is a gluten free dish prepared using raw green bananas. Typically prepared during fasting festivals like Navratri, Ekadashi, Mahashivratri, etc. but not restricted to fasts.

Raw Green Bananas contain potassium, vitamins A, C, and B6, fiber, and resistant starch. Resistant starch keeps the digestive system healthy, promotes the growth of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract and keeps one feeling full for a longer period of time.

Kacche Kele Ki Kofta Curry

Kacche Kele Ki Kofta CurryThis recipe is a twist to the regular Kacche Kele Ki Kofta Curry where the curry base is a gravy of onion, tomato, garlic and ginger. Since this one is upwas related, the gravy for this will be Danyachi Amti. The starchiness of raw bananas compliments the nutty flavor of peanuts and gives this dish a unique flavor.

I always accompany this dish either with Bhagar or with Rajgira Roti

The Koftas can be deep fried or stir fried as per your preference. I personally love them stir fried.

Do not discard the raw banana peels. Use them to prepare a chutney using garlic, salt, green and red chillies and kalonji (Nigella seeds). It is a traditional Bengali recipe called Kanchakalar Khosha Bata.

You can find the recipe for it here.
