Scottish September – Day 1

Scotland : A place I had seen only on map till last year.

During my stay in London the Scottish Referendum was in full swing and hubby suggested we visit Scotland instead of spending time only in UK just in case Scotland post Referendum becomes a separate country and we need another visa to visit it. I agreed.
A quick check with my friend and her hubby to join us and we had a Scottish September Holiday!!!

Edinburgh can be reached from King’s Cross station by taking one of the East coast railway trains. Off I go to check out King’s Cross station.
HP fans know this is the place to catch the Hogwarts express from 9 3/4 platform.
There is no wall between the 9 and 10 platforms but there is something else (A HP museum + a chance to enter 9 3/4 platform).
Little did I know that another surprise visit to HP land was going to happen in Scotland.

Some pics from the small visit to HP land below.

Wands anyone?

Where should I place you?

On a nice sunny September morning after a sumptuous Grilled Croissant with cheese and basil breakfast four of us boarded the East Coast Train for Edinburgh.
A soothing train journey with a scenic view of the sea, farmlands near the sea coast, beautiful views of countryside houses and chat with friends.
It was a perfect start to a perfect Holiday.

We spent the day roaming around Edinburgh, travelled in a tram, walked the Royal mile, saw beautiful views of Edinburgh from Calton Hill (a UNESCO World Heritage site), visited several monuments located on the hill and caught a beautiful glimpse of Edinburgh castle in the evening sun. Do visit Calton Hill when you visit Edinburgh.
